Amid propaganda and gang ups by selected subversives and power usurpers, President Goodluck Jonathan has pledge to continue to do his best to ensure that the expectations of Nigerians are met

Jonathan who said this, Tuesday, while receiving delegates from Bayelsa led by Governor Seriake Dickson added that Nigerians will appreciate the good work he has done for the country after he has left office.

He maintained that  the seat of the president of the country belongs to Nigerians  and only them can decide who occupies the seat at any point in time.

“The new year is full of challenges and everywhere will be hot from the January 2,” Jonathan said.

“ I am here by the grace of God and the will of Nigerians. If I don’t do well the shame will be on you,” he added.

He vowed to do his best saying that he does not expect praises from anybody now.

According to him, people will begin to compare you with others when eventually you leave that people.

He promised to do his best to address all the challenges facing us as a nation so that when he leaves, people will compare what he has done and what others before him did.

He however, urged the people of Bayelsa State to keep praying for the country, even as he strive to continue offering his best to the country.

In his remarks, the governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson said the delegation was in the State House to show solidarity with the president and express appreciation to Nigerians for supporting President Jonathan thus far.

 “We are here to show solidarity and to let everybody know that your people in Bayelsa are with you.

“It is in the spirit of Christmas that we are here on behalf of the people of Bayelsa to wish you, your government and family compliments of the season and a very happy, prosperous and victorious 2015.

“We bring you prayers and strong message of solidarity. We are here to thank Nigerians for their support for your government” he said.

The delegation which was made up of traditional rulers, political leaders and religious leaders however presented to President Jonathan a Christmas card.
