House of Representative aspirant for Aba North and South on the platform of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), Hon. Mascot Kalu has reiterated the need for Nigerians to imbibe good ethical values in their daily lives.
The investment- banker turned politician made the remarks at his annual end of year party for youths in Aba at the weekend.
He noted the sudden neglect of our cultural values is the cause of youth restiveness and other social vices in the society.
According to the aspirant, advocacy will go a long way in educating the people on moral conduct.
Kalu said” as we approach the new year, we give glory to God Almighty for the grace of life. This season is a period of self appraisal as individuals and as a nation.
“Let us look back at what we achieved and contributed to the nation in 2014 and prepare ourselves for greater challenges ahead”.
He also added that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow and we all have a role to play in ensuring that Nigeria is great.
“We have to restore our cultural values and imbibe self discipline in our daily lives.
“The lack of moral ethics is the cause of lawlessness and youth restiveness in the society. For Nigeria to prosper, there is need to refocus and re dedicate our resources in the Nigeria project,” he said.
The aspirant however assured the youths that if elected, he will focus on youth empowerment by promoting bills that will enhance the entrepreneurship acumen of the people.
Kalu used the opportunity to implore the electorate to resist any form of rigging in the forthcoming general elections as he urged them to vote PPA for the desired change.
He also charged the youths to support the re election bid of President Jonathan, having adopted him as PPA Presidential candidate.
