Time Magazine of United States of America has named The Roman Catholic Pope Francis as the most influential person for the year 2013.
This was the caption written about the Pope in the magazine.
“What makes this pope so important is the speed with which he has captured the imaginations of millions who had given up on hoping for the church.
“In a matter of months, Francis has elevated the healing mission of the church — the church as servant and comforter of hurting people in an often harsh world — above the doctrinal police work so important to his recent predecessors.”
The pope was picked among a short-listed few which few included Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos; Syrian Leader Bashar al Assad, NSA leaker; Edward Snowden, and the Twerking queen; Miley Cyrus.
