When comedian Julius Agwu hinted some months back his intention to run for the most exalted seat in Rivers State come 2015, majority waved it aside as one of his jokes.
But if his latest comment is anything to go by then the Ikwerre born stand-up comedian cum musician is up for something big.
“I have been receiving calls from different parts of the country to run and not to run,” he said when asked about his political ambition.
For some of his fans who believe that his ambition is nothing but a tall dream, Agwu said:
“I am damn serious about my political ambition.
“I am not stepping down.
“I used my last show in Abuja to declare my intention.”
Well, it is left to be seen how Agwu will actualize his dream since there are no indications that he has registered with any political party, neither has he purchase any party’s nomination and expression of interest form.
Like the saying goes, “if wishes were horses, then beggars will ride,” Agwu’s fans that are eagerly waiting for his declaration may have to wait till 2019 as this could be another stunt.
By the way, somebody just reminded us that Agwu made his intention known on April 1, 2014.
