The Nigerian Police said it has arrested five people for their suspected involvement in the bomb attack at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in Azare town of Bauchi state.
Two bombs went off at the First Bank ATM and killed 13 people as customers, most of them government workers waiting in line to cash their salaries, were queuing to make withdrawals at around 10a.m. on Friday.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, said 10 other people suffered various degrees of injuries in the explosion suspected to be carried out by dreaded terror group, Boko Haram.
Ojukwu said the police has begun investigation into the incident with five suspects already taken into custody.
The latest attack trailed the retaking of Mubi town, located in terror-torn Borno State, by Boko Haram insurgents who seek to declare Nigeria an Islamic caliphate.
The terror group, whose leader Abubakar Shekau re-appeared in a video after the Nigerian Army claimed to have killed him, is yet to claim responsibility for the attack.
