REGAL Estate Introduces QuickInsta® TensionLock Cellular Shades for Tool-Free Window Treatment Installation

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Installing window shades can involve measuring, drilling, mounting brackets, and handling tools that may complicate an otherwise simple home improvement project. REGAL Estate is showcasing its QuickInsta® TensionLock Cellular Shades as a practical alternative for homeowners, renters, and do-it-yourself consumers seeking straightforward installation, flexible light control, and everyday comfort without drilling into window frames.

Part of REGAL Estate’s QuickInsta® collection, TensionLock features a patent-pending tension-fit mechanism designed to secure the shade inside compatible window frames without screws, drilling, or separate mounting brackets. Installation involves positioning the shade within the frame and twisting an adjustment knob until it clicks into place. To remove the shade, users turn the adjustment knob counterclockwise to release the tension.

The integrated installation system is designed to simplify the process while minimizing the number of components required for mounting. All that is needed to install the shade is a set of hands. Easy installation creates that instant privacy, comfort and light control people want from their shades.

Reinforced Construction and Independently Tested Durability

TensionLock combines its installation mechanism with reinforced aluminum headrails and bottom rails, along with non-slip gripping pads designed to hold the shade securely against compatible window frames and damage free.

According to Bureau Veritas, a tested TensionLock sample completed 3,000 operating cycles without failure and remained suitable for its intended use. It was determined that 3,000 cycles are equivalent to approximately eight years of operation, assuming one cycle per day.

Cellular Fabric for Light Control and Comfort

TensionLock features 1.5-inch honeycomb cellular fabric designed to create insulating air pockets that help reduce heat transfer through the window covering. Consumers can choose between Light Filtering and Blackout fabric options, depending on their preferences for daylight, privacy, and room darkness.

Light Filtering fabric gently softens incoming daylight while providing daytime privacy. Blackout fabric blocks light through the material, offering greater darkness and privacy for spaces where reduced light is preferred.

The shades also feature smooth, cordless operation, eliminating exposed operating cords. Product materials identify WCMA Best for Kids™ and PFWBS certification, reflecting the product’s positioning around cordless design and household use.

TensionLock is designed exclusively for inside mounting in compatible, non-arched window frames with a minimum mounting depth of 1 3/4 inches. Consumers should verify their window dimensions and mounting conditions before purchasing.

Part of a Broader No-Drill Collection

REGAL Estate develops DIY-friendly window blinds and shades focused on installation simplicity, privacy, light control, and modern living. Its QuickInsta® collection offers three distinct mounting approaches: MagMount, designed for compatible metal or steel doors; PeelMount, designed for compatible smooth surfaces on doors and windows; and TensionLock, designed specifically for inside-mount windows.

“Installing window shades shouldn’t have to be complicated. With TensionLock, we focused on making installation simpler while paying equal attention to the details that matter every day—from a secure hold and durable construction to privacy, light control, and comfort,” said Andrew Yeh, CEO.
